I think it is an interesting question that asked of me the other day and what I think I have in terms of the entrepreneurial spirit or drive. Contemplating that there is actually a difference between the two of them and what that might mean to my future endeavors may actually have a big impact on my life some day.
When I think of having the spirit of an entrepreneur I often revert back to thoughts of my dad who was always trying to as he would say ‘ work on the other side of the cash register’. He has for as long as I can remember been trying to find a way to get out of the rat race so to speak and make enough money where his money is doing all the work. You know the dream if you have that spirit that so many people have.
It’s what fills the dream of so many people in society today, thinking of that million dollar idea that will make you financially set for life and will leave a mark on the world. Of course the difference between having the spirit of an entrepreneur and having the drive to be a successful entrepreneur is the same as night vs day.
Now that I am an adult with my own family I find myself having those same feelings that my dad has had for as long as I can remember. Wanting to create a business idea or brand that will set me financially free so I can spend more time with my family and not work so hard just to stay one step ahead of my bills.
After a few years of trying to pursue a sustainable income from internet ventures, schemes and scams with not much positive change to speak of. I wonder if I am just chasing some false hope with idea of spirit and I wonder if I do actually have the drive to do the work and put in the time to become a success in the online world. I know that I am not alone with these feelings as it’s not hard to stumble across the latest blog or website from someone that has the next big thing for the internet and a sales pitch that you had better get in on it now before you miss out on the next Facebook.
It can be quite frustrating trying to be a successful entrepreneur especially when it comes to working your ideas into the virtual world of the internet. You see I still have that thing inside my head and my heart that tells me there is a pot of gold out here on the web for millions of people to find if you are willing work for it. I believe that is what makes it so hard for people to achieve success when it comes to capitalizing on an original idea. Having the drive to keep pushing through all the failures and keep believing in your dream for success even if everyone around you has given up already.
